We recently popped into the studio of Diego Mireles, at the Museum of Human Achievement, here in Austin, Texas. Here’s a look into his world…

Diego Mireles Duran is an experimental artist maneuvering through various forms of creative dexterity. Whether it is playing with unexplored media or collaborative work, he challenges himself beyond his known perceptions of comfort and temporal reality by self-integration with the spaces in-between.

Exploring beyond his superficial faculties, he eludes personal memories, gender, race, intellectual perspectives, and social or economic states. He moves parallel with influences like Genesis P’Orridge, Jodorowski, and other creative mystics. Collecting inspiration from nature, minimal electronic sound composition, and traditional sects of mysticism and spirituality, he manifests his own mutated interpretations through his process.

He is currently compiling work for a summer show at the Museum of Human Achievement and planning a collaboration with Meow Wolf, an art collective based out of Santa Fe, New Mexico.
